Hershey’s Lodge Chocolate Chip Cookie
May 2, 2020 by JennyA central Pennsylvania lodge is joining restaurants across the country in generously sharing the most sought after recipes. The Hershey Lodge’s famous chocolate chip cookies recipe joins the ranks as one of the chocolate chip cookie recipes I have tried: Doubletree, Levain copycat, Allison Roman’s chocolate chunk shortbread, amongst many others. One of our weekly roundups covered all things chocolate chip cookie.
These cookies were tasty and a nice alternative when you want something a little different from your go-to chocolate chip cookie. I made my cookies a little smaller and we don’t like them really dark (you will note that my photo is greatly different than the one at the link below).
- 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 bag Hershey’s Special Dark chocolate chips
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Combine flour, salt, and baking soda in a mixing bowl. Sift or stir well to combine. Set aside.
- In another mixing bowl, with a hand mixer, cream butter and both sugars for 2-3 minutes until creamy and fluffy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, and mix until combined.
- Add vanilla and mix well.
- Add flour, salt, and baking soda and blend well.
- Stir in chocolate chips to combine.
- Scoop cookie dough into 1-1 1/3 oz. balls and place on cookie sheets
- Bake at 375 degrees until just beginning to brown on the top, roughly 9-15 minutes depending on the size of the cookie.
