Best sleeper books of 2022
January 5, 2023 by DarcieLast year was a tremendous year for cookbooks so there are a lot of books to be excited about. Between Jenny’s monthly new cookbook reviews, our Best Cookbooks by the Experts, Best of the Best cookbooks, and the forthcoming bestselling books of 2022, we pretty much have our Members covered for the top books. As with anything, however, sometimes there are sleepers that deserve more praise than they receive.

The Independent’s Prudence Wade has provided us with her top three books that might have slipped under the radar (well, not Jenny’s radar – nothing gets by her). Wade provides short reviews for the books, plus there’s a recipe from each as well to whet your appetite. Wade’s “hidden gems” for 2022 are:
- Big Has HOME: Recipes From North London To North Cyprus by Hasan Semay
- Africana: Treasured Recipes And Stories From Across The Continent by Lerato Umah-Shaylor
- The Pasta Queen: A Just Gorgeous Authentic Italian Cookbook by Nadia Caterina Munno
Did you discover any “hidden gems” this year that didn’t get much press attention or praise? I can’t weigh in on this because I still have a stack of cookbooks I haven’t even cracked open yet. There might a gem in that pile, but it will be sometime before I find it!
