Martha Stewart and José Andrés team up for a new show
April 30, 2025 by DarcieLifestyle maven Martha Stewart and everyone’s favorite humanitarian chef José Andrés have teamed up for a new cooking show from NBC that is also streaming on Peacock. Called “Yes, Chef!”, the show puts a new twist on the reality TV competition. Instead of cutthroat competition, the contestants will have to be good teammates in order to advance and ultimately collect the $250,000 prize.

Chefs have been known to be volatile and often ill-tempered, as illustrated by Gordon Ramsay in Hell’s Kitchen, where he often berated cooks until they broke down sobbing. Stewart and Andrés decided it was time to tackle that stereotype because as Andrés says, “That kind of behavior doesn’t make a great chef. It holds them back.” The contestants on “Yes, Chef!” will be graded not only on how well they cook, but how well they work together with others and keep their egos in check.
Stewart has had a reputation of being a difficult boss, something she acknowledges (sort of) in the new show. In a vulnerable moment with one of the contestants, she says “I have been known to be a perfectionist, and that kind of holds you back sometimes.” While the pairing of Stewart and Andrés might not seem the most logical, the two have been bonding over their love of food for some time. Their new show debuted earlier this week.
