  These “new color” articles always amuse me. I understand that companies need to keep up with color trends, but does anyone decide that now that it’s available in “tangerine” they finally need a Kitchen Aid mixer or $200 pot? I suppose it does drive some small percentage of purchasing; availablility in a favorite color might tip a purchasing decision. But Le Creuset and Kitchen Aid and a few others behave more like Fiesta Ware.

  I must admit that I purchased a few items in Sea Salt because I was enamored with the color, not because I *needed* another pot. Although I do use all three of the pans on a weekly basis!

  I love it! BUT, I am a huge sucker for anything purple or leans purple, or has even the slightest hint of purple in it! With that said, I will likely pass. I don’t typically spend that much on my pots and pans…probably because I spend all my extra $ on bakeware! Not that long ago I was very close to splurging and buying one of their round dutch ovens. There was a very deep purple Williams Sonoma exclusive (was it called Eggplant?) that I really wanted but I never could pull the trigger on it. My very good friend ended up buying one right before they were discontinued and I was green with envy. She likes to keep it displayed on her oven when she is not cooking and every time I am over for a visit and gush over how beautiful it is. As a fun gift I bought her one of their gold heart lid handles/toppers! It really adds something special to an already lovely pot. (sigh)

  It feels sad and dead. Even the flowers in the pictures look sad and dead. Vibrant is so much nicer!

  I actually quite like this new colour even though it would also not “fit” in my kitchen at all. My collection of similar pans (2 rounds, a huge oval & a beautiful new braising pan from Le Creuset, Staub & Lodge) are in the rich reds, blues & yellows…I guess along a southwestern colour palate. But in a white kitchen, I think the colour is quite pretty. To each his own I guess – which is why they actually do come in so many colours 🙂

  A friend of mines mother noticed that Le Creuset was having a 40% off sale. She popped into the shop and saw the casserole she wanted. Looked at the price and thought ouch and decided against it. A few hours later she had second thoughts and went back. Salesperson got the boxed item from the storeroom and took it to the till to ring up. Friends mother got the shock of her life when she found out that the displayed price INCLUDED the 40% discount. I’m sure I’ve already mentioned that I think Le Creuset prices have just become utterly ludicrous. I bought a 28cm casserole for £110 list £145 in 2016. Le Creuset is selling that same casserole today for an unbelievable £345!

  I love this color; it looks like what I painted my bedroom. However, I would not want it in the kitchen. My current kitchen and dining room are aquamarine. My old kitchen (previous home, from 2014-2021) was pale yellow and my dining room was green. I have Le Creuset pieces in green and yellow. The most recent purchase is a turquoise tea kettle, which stays on my stovetop — just a little brighter than the walls.

  Most annoying ! I looked on Lecreuset.de, .Co.uk, .fr and this colour is nowhere to be seen until I used a VPN to get to .com ?
  It’s pretty. Maybe one day it will be available in France !

  I love shallots, both in their own right and as a garlic substitute. I’m for raising awareness of this wonderful allium. And the color – not bad, it’s a pale taupe. I have a laundry bag in a similar color. But in the kitchen it’s GRAY, and gray kitchen pots charm me about as much as black and white pictures of food.
  Why this new color, anyway, on expensive, high-quality cookware that’s supposed to last a lifetime? As Fyretigger said, this is too much like FiestaWare. What happens when the next fashionable color comes along?

  I’m on the fence about having a Dutch oven, now that my youthful strength is gone; if and when I take the plunge, I’d like a color that suggests homey happiness. Maybe the next color will be more to my liking.

  Although I have 4 from this company and only use one smaller dutch oven more often (the other 3, hardly ever), I plan to buy Lodge dutch ovens in the future. I love their products.

  During my Army service, we spent a lot of time living in Germany. Le Creuset provided their cast iron cookware to NAAFI at a considerable discount. We purchased a lot of Le Creuset during those years and apart from a dulling of the gloss enamel interiors, it is all in perfect condition today. Our largest casserole is so heavy, I haven’t used it on the induction hob in case the hob collapses.

  Have to admit, I love it. It must be popular, because when I went to look for a Dutch oven, only 2 sizes were left in Shallot.

  The color’s OK. Caribbean is more my style. But the website encourages, “Time to refresh your kitchen.” Sure, let’s spend $2000 for a new color of pots and pans even though the others are perfectly fine!
