Hannah took time to answer a few questions for our Members:

Whether she’s whipping up a viral recipe or a hit song, Music Row predicted she’ll be the next big thing. She’s a Fender Next artist, a CMT Next Women of Country and a regular on the Grand Ole Opry. But Whiskey Riff believes Hannah Dasher is still “one of Nashville’s best kept secrets, much like Chris Stapleton used to be.” They claim she’s one of the best live acts they’ve seen in a long time. A true entertainer, she’s amassed over 1.5M followers on TikTok and has become a viral sensation on other platforms. Walk into her “Honkytonk Graceland” home and find that this artist is no character. She lives like she looks. Preserving the best of nostalgic Country music and building upon it with a fresh, new sound, Hannah Dasher feels like the big piece of the puzzle we’ve been missing for a while. This year, she takes her headlining “Wanted” Tour across the pond to Sweden and the UK.
Q: What first triggered your interest in cooking/baking and what is your first cooking memory?
I love to eat! I grew up around great food, great cooks and got it honest. My first cooking memory was when I was 10 years old, the first meal I ever made was BBQ ribs and potato salad. I will always remember that!
Q: If you had to describe your cooking style, what would it be?
I’m a white girl, soul food cook who got an invite to the cookout!
Q: Are you a cookbook collector?
Absolutely. Some of my favorites are older prints of The Clyo Homemakers Club and Junior League of Savannah cookbooks. Those are staples. My favorite new age chefs, however are Thomas Straker, Matty Matheson, Joshua Weissman, and Kardea Brown.
Q: What is the best part of your job? Do you ever feel burnt out creatively?
The best part of my job meeting the fans and having the chance to connect with them, taking pictures with them after a show, in the grocery store, or airport, you name it. That is the most rewarding part of the job.
Q: What is your go-to for a quick dinner (and dessert)?
From Stand by Your Pan it’s the Tulsa chicken and gravy with roasted and mashed potatoes. It’s hard to beat. I can whip that up in an hour or less. I love any kind of cobbler a la mode! I keep my rye apple pie filling canned and put up in my pantry for a quick apple pie or apple cobbler when guests come over, top it off with vanilla ice cream and they think you really did something. Richard Petty’s wife, Mrs. Lynda Petty has a great apple cobbler crust recipe, I give you this recipe in the book.
Q: Tell us one fun thing that you like to do but doesn’t involve cooking. Hobbies, etc.
While I’m not cooking, I’m writing songs, making music and touring on the weekends. I travel the US and Europe some. A lot of folks don’t know that I write songs for other commercial touring artists as well.
Q: Tell us about your book:
All soul food is not created equal. Because of my background and my travels, I feel that this book gives you the best versions of some of the classics plus many of my own kitchen creations. I’ve multiplied the flavor and simplified the instruction. This book holds the secrets that your favorite cooks likely took to their grave; all while helping you become hostess with the mostest, male or female, beginning cook or advanced , everyone has something to gain from “Stand by Pan” whether they ever cook a recipe from it or not.
