GIVEAWAY: The Instant Pot® Duo Mini 3 Quart and the Instant Pot® Electric Pressure Cooker Cookbook

Meet the new addition to the Instant Pot® Family - the Duo Mini 3 Qt 7-in-1 Multi- Use Programmable Pressure Cooker. She is super adorable and takes far less space on our counters or in our pantry. Perfect for smaller jobs, traveling, and for folks who have a smaller crowd to feed. For kids heading back to college, it is the perfect appliance to keep them eating more home cooked meals and far less Instant Ramen or cafeteria food. Darcie recently wrote an article sharing some tips for taking advantage of this appliance.

Instant Pot® is a 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Cooker-Pressure Cooker, Slow Cooker, Rice Cooker, Saute/Browning, Yogurt Maker, Steamer & Warmer and includes a three ply bottom stainless steel cooking pot, rice measuring cup, stainless steel steam rack with handle, rice paddle, soup spoon, and measuring cup. Instructions, recipes, and cooking time tables in multiple languages are included.

This new model's compact size allows me to keep it in the kitchen where I am more prone to use it daily - the six quart version is perfect for bigger jobs, but for every day cooking this one will be my to-go.

I am excited to try the 9-in-1 model this Fall that adds a program button for eggs, cake and sterilizing too. We will do a promotion featuring it and other Instant Pot® related cookbooks that are being released during that time.

Instant Pot® not only saves time and calories (at least for me - less oil and fats needed for great tasting meals) - it also saves money (no more take-out food, or processed food because time is of the essence) and now the three-quart version saves space. No more convulsing knobs, spurting steam and threatening noises. When I first used my pot, it was so quiet - I thought it wasn't working and rice is effortless and perfect every time. Instant Pot® has revolutionized the pressure cooking world.

The kind folks at Instant Pot® want you to try their new baby (more on that below in our giveaway) and Race Point Publishing would like you to win a copy of the Instant Pot® Electric Pressure Cooker Cookbook (An Authorized Instant Pot® Cookbook): Quick & Easy Recipes for Everyday Eating by Sara Quessenberry and Kate Merker. An Instant Pot would help your menu planning by making it easier to prep rice. I can't convince myself to buy a standalone rice cooker so I've been cooking it on the stovetop which isn't difficult but certainly requires more attention than a machine.

  • tangaloor  on  8/12/2017 at 11:27 AM

  • tangaloor  on  8/12/2017 at 11:29 AM

  • sgump  on  8/12/2017 at 2:13 PM

And how would the Instant Pot help me with meal prep? Well, it would help me "think outside the rice cooker"--although, admittedly, the first recipe I'd try with it would be the coconut rice! (I guess I've spent too much time in Asia or something.)

  • Spotgr  on  8/13/2017 at 8:36 AM

Many times I'm tired after work and only have energy enough to throw together a main dish. This little pot would help my menu planning by being able to efficiently take care of a side dish while I concentrated on the main dish.

  • rivergait  on  8/13/2017 at 5:30 PM

Cooking for 5 (4 Corgis who eat "real" food, and me), I'd be interested in making hummus sweet-and-sour meatballs for cocktail hour which comes immediately after I feed the dogs. The smaller-size IP would be perfect for that.

I have read that you can do prep for a mea, freeze it and then come home and drop it in the instant pot and have it ready is less than half an hour - that would be helpful.

    Deviled eggs.

  • sakarnesky  on  8/15/2017 at 1:57 AM

The 3-qt Instant Pot would help with food prep by allowing a side dish to be prepared in it, while icing a main dish in a larger Instant Pot, so that everything could be ready at the same time.

  • josiesmythe  on  8/15/2017 at 6:03 AM

The first thing I'd try is the Creamy Rice with Poblanos and Corn

    Mexican black beans!

  • heychickie  on  8/15/2017 at 8:37 AM

Having a 3 qt instant pot would help me more easily prepare smaller sides in less space than a larger 5, 6 or 8 qt requires, while the main dish cooks elsewhere, or for days I'm cooking just for me.

  • elinwoods  on  8/15/2017 at 9:53 AM

The instant pot will make my hectic schedule just slightly easier. I work weird hours, am trying to eat healthier, but I feel like I don't have the time to make myself something better because I'm busy.

I would try the Sticky Toffee Pudding first. I'm not convinced that slow cooking or pressure cooking brings any advantage to most desserts ... but I'll keep an open mind!

  • trudys_person  on  8/17/2017 at 10:21 PM

I think the IP would help me with planning weeknight meals.

  • BridgetL  on  8/17/2017 at 10:26 PM

An Instant Pot would help me include recipes we usually save for weekends into my weeknight rotation bringing more variety to the after work routine.

  • KarenDel  on  8/18/2017 at 12:40 PM

I'd like to try the Vegetable pot stickers with sesame-ginger dipping sauce

  • KarenDel  on  8/18/2017 at 12:48 PM

It would be perfect for me as I have to cook a meal every day after work. And the size of the mini is great because I'm cooking for one.

  • andreainblue  on  8/18/2017 at 1:59 PM

Oh my goodness... so many tasty sounding recipes! I think I'd go for the caramelized onion dip, though. That sounds really appealing right now!

  • andreainblue  on  8/18/2017 at 2:01 PM

I love that this is a smaller Instant Pot! I have a larger one and use it often... but this would be wonderful to have for the times when I'm just cooking for myself and one other person.

  • XXOOL  on  8/18/2017 at 3:48 PM

Just the right size for cooking for two.

I would make the Spice-rubbed cauliflower steaks. They sound tasty!

  • AlisonL  on  8/24/2017 at 10:13 AM

I think the mini would be really helpful when I go to potluck gatherings. I would be able to finish cooking and serve a dish right from the unit.

  • lpedro  on  8/24/2017 at 11:34 AM

The hummus sounds intriguing and fabulous.

  • skenoyer  on  8/24/2017 at 3:41 PM

  • AnneOther  on  8/24/2017 at 8:29 PM

Spaghetti squash with garlic and sage brown butter sounds good to me. Sounds really good, in fact.

  • Radiantpurple  on  8/24/2017 at 9:08 PM

Honestly, the deviled eggs.... I can't believe I could hard "boil" eggs in the instapot!! I've been ogling that baby size for a month now :)

  • Radiantpurple  on  8/24/2017 at 9:19 PM

How would an instapot help me? Let me count the ways.... Two working parents outside the home, one dog, three kids, busy social life.... cutting dinner prep and eating healthier is what we all need in our lives

  • Sofie168  on  8/24/2017 at 11:14 PM

    Mexican black beans

  • amandacooks  on  8/26/2017 at 12:11 PM

The Instant Pot would make it easier to plan meals based on dried beans and grains since they would not take as long to cook. I don't always have a full afternoon to babysit a pot of beans!

  • outsidereader  on  8/26/2017 at 3:38 PM

I would love to try the Quinoa breakfast bowl with broiled tomatoes.

    Coconut rice

  • naty  on  8/27/2017 at 8:05 AM

Gello, i would make the banana bread. Always have extra bananas at home that overripe. Not much of a baker so i think i would not mess this up withe the instapor.

  • naty  on  8/27/2017 at 8:13 AM

For meal planning this would be awesome! Could do chli, and chicken for a couple of days and fast!!

Apple cider and thyme-braised brisket. It's almost apple season!

  • elizabrarian  on  8/29/2017 at 10:12 PM

I've been wanting to try an Instant Pot. I'm a working mom so quick meals are a must. Finding a handful of favorite Instant Pot recipes to turn to again and again on busy weeknights would make family meals easier and healthier.

  • InAHealthyKitchen  on  8/30/2017 at 9:39 PM

oo, vegetable green thai curry...i've never had anything like this, it would be so, so cool to explore what it could do!

  • Jennifer7  on  9/5/2017 at 11:34 AM

Since I never used a pressure cooker I would try the banana bread first. Next on to the vegetable pot stickers.

  • Jennifer7  on  9/5/2017 at 11:41 AM

Pressure cookers always frightened me but I see that they now are so safe and convenient that using one in every day meal prep can be second nature. I think a small one to start with is a great idea and I would use it for bread and side dishes until I mastered it then move on to main dishes. It sure would be helpful after a long work day.

  • Larkspur  on  9/6/2017 at 8:07 AM

    Ropa Vieja!

    The Enchiladas rancheras sound delicious.

  • JenJoLa  on  9/6/2017 at 10:03 PM

I'd use it to speed up dinner preparation. I've always been so nervous about traditional pressure cookers I've been keeping an eye on the instant pot because it seems so much more user-friendly.

    Pumpkin spice cake

  • tarae1204  on  9/7/2017 at 12:19 PM

I use my rice cooker even more than my slow cooker, and I regret giving away a yogurt maker years ago. Would be wonderful to be able to perform all those tasks with one machine.

  • smartie101  on  9/11/2017 at 4:53 PM

Meal prep would be so much faster. So many ways to cook just about everything.

  • AnneOther  on  9/11/2017 at 5:06 PM

This little Instant Pot would be a big help with my meal prep, since I could easily cook vegetables, beans, grains, or potatoes in very little time and with consistently good results, freeing me up to concentrate on other parts of the meal.

  • dustykatt  on  9/17/2017 at 12:06 PM

The most important thing this would do for my food prep is to clear enough space on the counter to do food prep. All these appliances in one means I can get rid of a whole bunch of other ones.

  • sgrm9514  on  9/17/2017 at 11:12 PM

Pressure cookers used to frighten me to. But now that I've used them a couple times (still respect it) I feel a little better about using them. I would like to make roast and potatoes

  • Faynilla  on  9/18/2017 at 6:18 AM

This would be perfect to do more along side my kitchen appliances. I can use this to make all the desserts!!!!!

  • Davryanna  on  9/18/2017 at 10:59 AM

Pineapple and Chipotle Pork Tacos, or Green Thai Curry, or Creamy rice with poblano and corn, or pulled pork. They all sound so good. I really want an instant pot.
