Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Creamy orzo with chicken, asparagus, and sun-dried tomatoes

    • Jane on June 18, 2012

Although this is called "creamy" there is no dairy produce in it at all. The creaminess comes from the risotto-like cooking of the orzo. It was good combination of flavors - chicken, asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, Parmesan and basil. It was good for a weeknight dinner though it is isn't very speedy (almost one hour) since the chicken cooks first then the stock is used to cook the orzo.

  • Chewy coconut-lime sugar cookies

    • goodfruit on September 04, 2014

made without coconut, with just the lime zest, really gorgeous and yummy cookies cooked 6 minutes, turned, cooked 3 more minutes Not as stated which is cook 7 minutes, turned, cook 4 more minutes

  • Chicken riggies

    • Rradishes on October 02, 2016

Good dish, makes a lot of it. Might cut down next time, not a dish to have multiple meals in a row.

  • Smoked salmon rolls

    • Rradishes on October 02, 2016

Can't go wrong with smoked salmon. The creamy spread definitely adds to it.

  • Classic beef tenderloin with crispy baked potato fans

    • ldholakia on October 03, 2021

A great recipe for a special occasion - we have had it at Christmas more than once. Timing works well to get both the roast and the potatoes to the table. Watch the potatoes closely under the broiler...it would be a shame to burn things right at the end.

  • Roasted smashed potatoes

    • Kate Cooks the Books

As promised, these potatoes deliver both the fluffy interior of a baked potato and the crispy exterior of a french fry (without the deep frying). They are absolutely heavenly...
