The last two weeks: Previews of 2023 books; large pastry promotion; recipes and more

As I have mentioned in previous roundups, the 2023 Cookbook Preview Listing is being continually updated (so many books!). Every week or thereabouts, I will highlight a few upcoming books so you may update your Wishlist. Here are this week’s books:

A Table Full of Love: Recipes to Comfort, Seduce, Celebrate & Everything Else In Between by Skye McAlpine is the latest offering from the author of A Table in Venice: Recipes from My Home and A Table for Friends: The Art of Cooking for Two or Twenty – both of which are gorgeous books. On February 21st, 2023, the third book from Skye will be released and is filled with the same gorgeous photography and homey recipes that we have come to expect from the author. The book is organized by dishes that “comfort” “seduce” “nourish” “spoil” and “cocoon”. A section on menus is also included as well. I love Skye’s books because they are equal parts savory and sweet with recipes that are all parts approachable.

Food of the Italian Islands: Recipes from the Sunbaked Beaches, Coastal Villages, and Rolling Hillsides of Sicily, Sardinia, and Beyond by Katie Parla is a vibrant collection of photographs and recipes that will have you booking your next vacation to the Italian Islands. Katie has formed her own publishing company and her new book is slated for a March 7th, 2023 release – the Buy Book button will take you to her website to order the title. Seafood, pasta, breads and desserts are just a few of the types of dishes you will find in this exciting title devoted to Italian cuisine.

Everyday Grand: Soulful Recipes for Celebrating Life’s Big and Small Moments by Jocelyn Delk Adams will be published on March 14th, 2023. It has been almost eight years since Grandbaby Cakes, Jocelyn’s debut cookbook. Everyday Grand is loaded with dishes, both savory and sweet, with Jocelyn’s trademark vibrancy and love of great food and family reflected throughout. Bourbon brown butter wings; Georgia peach salad with candied pecans and cornbread croutons; and Mama’s chicken soup for ya soul – are a few examples of the soulful recipes here.

My Vermont Table: Recipes for All (Six) Seasons by Gesine Bullock-Prado will be published on March 14th, 2023. Previously the author’s books have dealt primarily with desserts (and they are keepers!). Here, Gesine gives us a collection of recipes for all savory and sweet dishes and covers the “six” seasons of her home state, Vermont. Ooey-gooey mac and cheese; Vermont sweet and tangy cornbread; Onion saffron tart; Roast turkey a la Helga (her mother); and so much more. There are plenty of baked offerings as well. While I love her baking books, this one might be my favorite.
