Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Broccoli soup

    • fprincess on February 18, 2011

Delicious and simple. I changed the garnish a little bit and used walnuts and feta cheese. Very important to season well at the end (salt, pepper, and good fruity olive oil) otherwise the soup can taste very bland. With the correct seasonings the favors really pop.

Made again. Still love it. This time I used fresh goat cheese. Photo here: http://forums.egullet.org/topic/58505-the-soup-topic/page__st__1050__p__1899375#entry1899375

This is lovely! Gordon is right - despite always making broccoli soup with potato, leeks , onion etc etc - it doesn’t need it. This is pure intense broccoli. It does need a good season to bring out the best of the flavour.

  • Spaghetti with lobster in a creamy tomato sauce

    • Janemac on June 19, 2011

easy, no change to recipe, tasted great, big hit with friends. on my list of favourites.

  • Macaroni cheese with blue cheese and mushrooms

    • wester on August 27, 2011

There's not much new about this recipe, but it's nice enough.

  • Mini tart Tatins of caramelized red onion and goat cheese

    • bradis on July 24, 2022

Simple and sophisticated. Really impressive and not too heavy to eat.

  • Frisée and potato soup with tarragon

    • KennethJames on October 26, 2023

Made this 10-23-2023 without shallots because called for ‘liquid food’ after dentist. Good would make again pg 13 in new addition of book

  • Salt baked pineapple

    • Laurel21 on July 17, 2021

More than 1 hour in the oven and the pineapple didn't cook and the salt didn't stop at the crust. the flavors of the 5 spices and cloves did not penetrate. A total disappointment and waste.
