Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Sticky baked chicken drumsticks

    • manycookbooks on June 11, 2020

I made this recipe for the first time, but was disappointed for several reasons. In preparations for the drumsticks, you are instructed to "Drizzle over a little olive oil and bake in the hot oven for 20 minutes" (or, perhaps he meant to say "Drizzle a little olive oil over...." (400 degrees). Perhaps I had extra large chicken drumsticks than Gordon Ramsay did, as mine took considerably longer to cook through. The other problem was with the glazing step: first of all, drizzling olive oil over the drumsticks, even a little, caused the glaze to just slide off and not stick. Secondly, the glaze was too watery to begin with. I think it better to forget drizzling with olive oil and altering the proportions of the glaze, so that it adheres to the drumsticks. Still, taste was fine and much better oven baking than frying.

8.15 Didn't need all the feta - approx. 1/2. Yum, easy & tasty.

  • Herb omelet with cherry tomatoes

    • ithyt on November 01, 2015

  • Whole wheat blueberry muffins

    • ithyt on November 01, 2015

9.12 Yummy! 11.14 Scrummy again - also makes great mini muffins.

  • Sweet potato frittata with tomato salsa

    • ithyt on November 01, 2015

9.12 Sesame oil too strong for me - just cut back a bit next time. Otherwise yummy lunch/light dinner.

  • Mango, avocado, and smoked chicken salad

    • TLouise on April 05, 2022

Very nice fresh tasting salad. Was in a hurry so used ready cooked flame grilled chicken from supermarket which worked well. Will definitely make again.

  • Braised pork with leeks and bok choy

    • Gayle_mcclelland on February 16, 2021

Really great recipe with asian inspired flavours. I used mirin rather than white wine, and used baby bok choi. The pork turned out amazingly tender, and the flavours together were super. Served over rice.
