Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Cider and honey roast leg of lamb

    • KarinaFrancis on November 20, 2013

This was ok but not as good as the enticing photo had me believe.

  • Caramelized fennel and red onions

    • debkellie on March 30, 2014

I think I overcooked this, as I chose to oven bake rather than stove-top simmer. Nothing fantastic about it, but a nice change.

  • Coffee and almond crunch cake

    • eeeve on September 27, 2015

Great cake - made with ground walnuts instead of almonds, and replaced some of the plain flour with spelt, to bring out the nuttiness. Just make sure to use really strong espresso or the coffee flavour will be lost. A dollop of creme fraiche transforms this cake into a very special one - absolutely recommended!

  • Vegetable stock

    • imaluckyducky on June 22, 2013

Stock are pretty much anything you have in the fridge tossed into a pot... but if you're looking for a go-to recipe for a full-bodied veggie broth, I would recommend this.

Reviews about Recipes in this Book

  • Caramelized apple pie

    • Kitchn

...Gordon’s tart dough was difficult to work with. It kept tearing as I rolled it out, so I had to keep sticking it back in the fridge to let it firm up before trying again.

From the award-winning chef and star of Hell's Kitchen--an intimate, full-color cookbook filled with more than 100 recipes from the chef's family table

The star of the provocative television series "Hell's Kitchen," Gordon Ramsay is known for his explosive and unpredictable temper. Cooking for Friends offers an unprecedented and intimate glimpse into this celebrity chef's private and wonderfully charming home life.

In June 2008, Forbes ranked Ramsay as one of the world's most powerful celebrities. He currently holds a total of ten Michelin stars, and is the only chef in London with a three Michelin-star restaurant. With two hugely popular television series and dozens of restaurants around the globe, the famed chef lives life in the fast lane. Yet despite the commitments of a busy career, Ramsay makes time to cook for his wife and children and an assortment of family and friends.
