2026 Cookbook Preview Post

Here we go again…another year and a slew of cookbooks already in the pre-order stage.

A few authors have mentioned that the amount of pre-orders weigh into how much money the publishing companies put into publicity for a particular cookbook, so preorder your favorites. Using our Buy Book button earns EYB an affiliate commission but also please remember your local bookshops.

There are loads of other books to be added so check back every week or so for updates. Also remember some of the dates of publication, titles and more may change as time goes by – but I keep on top of those as well. Note: I have added the ISBNs for ebooks and linked those where they were available. Start building your wish list now.

Lastly, as many books are published in multiple regions with the same ISBN, please note that the books are listed under the country where they are originally published. If the books have different ISBNs, I list them appropriately in the country and month for each.

Update: A Member asked which ones were “highly anticipated”. I have placed in bold those titles that I think are exciting, plus titles that are written by authors that are popular with our Members. I am also trying to use the EYB Pick options and will edit some of these books to include that tag:

Whenever I try to practice restraint there comes another EYB preview. Four pre-orders and a bunch of saves later, and that’s several months out with the whole of October still missing 🙈

When I was a kid in the 1950s, every December I would pore over the Sears-Roebuck Toy Catalogue, circling all the items I wished Santa would bring. Such a multitude of possibilities — all in one place! How could anyone put together this marvelous compendium?

Every time Jenny’s preview comes out, I find myself engaged in the same pattern! First, my mind reels with amazement that ANYONE can stay on top of the huge number of culinary volumes published each year. Next, I longingly picture myself in the library from “Beauty and the Beast,” surrounded by towering shelves bearing thousands of cookbooks. Then, I consider multiple (legal) ways of obtaining sufficient funds to fill those shelves. Finally, when reality alas sets in, I examine every title on Jenny’s list and salivate. I make my own catalogue of those that I ABSOLUTELY MUST own and those I would buy if I had endless resources.

Throughout the year, I go back to Jenny’s list over and over again to see what’s coming next and checking off those I covet! Each time it’s like exploring that Christmas Toy Book all over again! Thank you EYB (and Jenny) for keeping bibliophiles up to date.

So much hard work must go into compiling these lists. They are so fun to browse throughout the year and see what to keep on my radar. Thank you!

I just saw that a new Melissa Clark cookbook is coming out in November. It’s focus will be on dinner and it sounds like it’s going to be even bigger than her famous cookbook entitled Dinner. Can’t wait.

I’ve been hoping that Stuart Lane would finally publish a cookbook and now I see that I only have to wait another few months! I have reveled in the food at Spinasse in Seattle for years and can hardly wait to try it at home since I live 200 miles from the restaurant!

Did you have “Somaaliya” by Ifrah F. Ahmed on the list for March? It was released March 26th (in the U.S.) and I just ordered it. There are so few English-language Somali cookbooks and I’ve been eagerly anticipating it’s release.

I just saw “Somaaliya” on the March list. It’s a beautiful book. Thanks Jenny for all the work you do!
