      This is totally old school, so much so that we ate it with knife and fork. There is a bit of work involved and I wasn’t expecting it to be so good, but it really was!

      How recipes have changed since 1980. This sauce uses water and stock cubes, nowadays the recipes use wine, or cider e.g. for the base of a cream sauce.

      We used real carrots and substituted zucchini for the snow peas: flavoursome dressing. Really went well with the leftover French roast duck, as the acidity of the dressing really cut through the fattiness (delectable though it is) of the duck!
